VP VAPING REVIEW: BIRMINGHAM VAPES

Birmingham Vapes are a UK company based in Birmingham (was that a surprise?). They have three ranges, Hells Kitchen with two juices, Heavens Gates with two juices and Fingys with three juices all are a 70VG/30PG.

I first met the guys from Birmingham Vapes when they launched their first range Hells Kitchen at the Vaper Expo UK in May last year and I did a review for them, if you would like to check that out please click here.

I somehow missed them at the Vaper Expo UK – The Return, if you’d like to check out my visit then you can do so by clicking here. It may tell you why I missed so much at that event.

Moving quickly on I was to meet the guys again at the better laid out Vaper Expo UK – The Big Weekend it was a great weekend (if you’d like to check out my visit then click here). I went over for a chat about how much further forward they have come and about the new juices they had. They gave me a box of samples for the purpose of review, all three ranges. We spoke about Hells Kitchen juices as I had already reviewed them (if you’d like to check that out, click here), but since I did my review they had tweaked the recipe and wanted to know my thoughts on them, so they will be included in the review.

It was a good year ago that I did that review, I’m not going to look at the other review until after I have done this one and then do a comparison. We do have to bare in mind that tastes change, but please read on and lets see what I think.

I have mentioned many times before that going to events and trying juice can come across as being amazing and then you buy some, get it home and into your own device and it doesn’t quite live up to expectation. Please read on and let’s take a look and see what I think of these juices.

The review I will be conducting will be a scent test from the open bottle of juice and then a flavour test on the devices listed below.

With no further a do, I’ll get on with the review.

Devices used:

  • Joyetech Cuboid 150W @ 70watts, Geekvape Tsunami 24 with Dual Clapton 0.8ohm coils, wicked with Kendo Cotton
  • Aspire Pegasus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Triton2 with Clapton 0.5ohm coil
  • Innokin CoolFire plus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Cleito with 0.4ohm coil

HELL’S KITCHEN

Damnation

Scent: cinnamon waffle.

Flavour: Yum, waffles. For me this juice is very much about the waffles and it is though they have had a dusting of cinnamon. Right at the end of the exhale there is this lovely toffee that comes through and throughout the exhale there is a hint of creaminess to the vape. If you are a dessert/cinnamon vape lover, you are going like this.

On the inhale I get a wonderfully baked waffle which has hints of cinnamon and there is a throat hit. On to the exhale and the waffle stays true with the cinnamon pushing through a little more. A creamy back note joins the party on the exhale and just when you think it is all over, a smooth toffee pops up and leaves my palate all sweet. An ADV for me.

Purgatory

Scent: apple, sweet pastry and vanilla notes.

Flavour: oh wow, this is a delightful vape, very moreish. This is an apple pie, but the pastry comes across very subtly and with a lovely addition of a vanilla ice-cream and I think there is a little caramel too. I get slightly different variations every time I vape with different flavours being more prominent each time I vape. I like that.

On the inhale I get a sweet apple closely followed in by a soft pastry. On the exhale these two flavours are accentuated with a magnificent creamy vanilla ice-cream that joins and dances around in the back ground. Every now and then a soft smooth caramel pops up giving me a little surprise. Is it an ADV? Certainly is for me.

HEAVEN’S GATES

Nirvana

Scent: strawberries and lime.

Flavour: on my goodness, what a lovely vape. Never had anything quite like this before. I find the lime only just sits on top of the fresh smooth strawberry and on the exhale there is this back note and I think it is a rum. A very interesting and enjoyable vape.

On the inhale I get a smooth strawberry which is closely followed in and taken over a little by the lime. The lime is not tart or sharp. On to the exhale and the lime just pushes through slightly more, but is joined by what I think is a rum. The rum is not overpowering, but a welcome addition. An ADV for me.

 Eden

Scent: peaches.

Flavour: well, well, well one of the finest peach vapes I have ever had. Real peaches have an ever so slightly bitter taste at the end and they have done this perfectly. There is something else in with this which gives it a slightly creamy edge to it. Really is a heavenly vape.

On the inhale I get this wonderful peach straight from the off. On to the exhale and the peach just blossoms into flavour, there are a couple of back notes which I can’t clearly define. It doesn’t matter this juice is adorable and makes for great ADV for me.

FINGY’S JUICE

Blozza

Scent: pomegranate, with hints raspberry and citrus.

Flavour: what a lovely and interesting blend. There is a tart orange and a hint of a raspberry and a pomegranate to finish. Something very different and quite refreshing.

On the inhale I am immediately hit with sharp but sweet orange (I don’t think it is an orange, but close relative, maybe a tangerine). Closely followed in by a raspberry that just hints at my taste buds. On to the exhale and the orange just blossoms and the raspberry disappears. A pomegranate pops up to join the orange through until the finish. An ADV for me.

YH YH

Scent: pineapple and grapefruit.

Flavour: a wonderful tropical blend. It is nice to see the mango taking a backseat in this juice, with the pineapple and grapefruit fighting it out for dominance.

On the inhale I get a soft sweet pineapple which soon followed in by a slightly sharp grapefruit and with the slightest of throat hits. On the exhale the pineapple and grapefruit really tussle for dominance with a mango that is quite happy to sit in the background. An ADV for me.

Fingy

Scent: dragon fruit with a hint of lychee.

Flavour: it is well documented that I’m not a huge fan of menthol/koolada vapes. I find that this juice does have one of them, though in small amounts. It is not hard hitting at all, more like a refreshing breeze. I actually rather like it. This juice is more about the dragon fruit and I find the lychee is more of an aid to push the dragon fruit through.

On the inhale I get hints of dragon fruit and I think there is a little citrus there too. But it is all about the exhale, the dragon fruit just blossoms into flavour with something sitting behind pushing it along (which I believe to be lychee from smelling the bottle). Also on the exhale there is like a breath of fresh air that the fruit float out on. Dare I say it? An ADV for me.

So to my conclusion, I find that Birmingham Vapes have brought some excellent juices to the market. All the juices deliver a full-bodied flavour and produce some excellent vapour. I have been really impressed with all the ranges and they bring something a little different than what is already out there. If you are looking for something different then these guys are well worth a try.

Looking back at the previous review I did, I see that I have scored the juices slightly higher this time and this could be for a variety of reasons. One being my change in palate, as my profile nowadays is more towards dessert flavours. Or it could quite simply be that they have in fact improved the flavour of the juice. The fact still remains that I still like what they have done.

The samples I received came in unicorn style bottles with child safety caps and tamper rings. They also came in boxes, they are all TPD/TRPR compliant. I love the great labeling which makes them stand out. They have a great website which is clear and easy to navigate. I look forward to seeing what Birmingham Vapes come out with next and wish them the best of luck going forward.
