VP VAPING REVIEW: POINT FIVE OHMS

Point Five Ohms are a UK company based in Derbyshire. They have one range with thirteen flavours and they are all varying VG/PG mixes(I will state what they are within the review).

I went to Vaper Expo UK – The Big Weekend this year and had a really enjoyable time (you can read about my visit by clicking here). I met lots of companies that I hadn’t met before and some that I knew very well. A company I hadn’t met before was Point 5 Ohms, which were being distributed by Eco Vapes (I recently did a review on their Psycho Bunny range, check it out by clicking here).

After speaking to a friend who I met at the event, he recommended I should take a look at the range, so I picked up four random bottles from their range for the purpose of review.

I have mentioned many times before that going to events and trying juice can come across as being amazing and then you buy some, get it home and into your own device and it doesn’t quite live up to expectation. Please read on and let’s take a look and see what I think of these juices.

The review I will be conducting will be a scent test from the open bottle of juice and then a flavour test on the devices listed below.

With no further a do, I’ll get on with the review.

Devices used:

  • Joyetech Cuboid 150W @ 70watts, Geekvape Tsunami 24 with Dual Clapton 0.8ohm coils, wicked with Kendo Cotton
  • Aspire Pegasus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Triton2 with Clapton 0.5ohm coil
  • Innokin CoolFire plus 70W @ 40watts, Aspire Cleito with 0.4ohm coil

Strawberry Mix Up – 76VG/24PG

Scent: candied strawberry.

Flavour: wow, I wasn’t expecting that. The strawberry sits on top but there is this wonderful sweet apple and hints of a watermelon. A great surprise and a delightful juice.

On the inhale I get a soft smooth strawberry. On to the exhale and though the strawberry sits there comfortably a divine sweet apple pops up which is a lovely surprise. There are hints of a watermelon which sits in the background. Is it an ADV? Most certainly is for me.

VP Review Rating: 9/10

Blackcurrant Lime Soda – 78VG/22PG

Scent: blackcurrant with hints of lime.

Flavour: it is well documented than I’m not a fan of menthol/koolada vapes, but I have tried enough to know what makes up a good juice. Personally I would have liked this juice without a koolada as the blackcurrant is really bold, but it isn’t unusual for it to be an addition in a juice like this.

On the inhale I get hints to fruit, but find the build up of koolada takes the lead. On to the exhale and I get an explosion of blackcurrant which is really bold and delightful. I also get a hint of lime that is a back note. With the addition of the koolada it is not for me. But if you are a koolada/menthol fan then I urge you to give this a go.

VP Review Rating: 5/10

Pink Lemonade – 77VG/23PG

Scent: strong pink lemonade.

Flavour: oh my, this is a lovely lemonade. A popular flavour of juice that is made by a lot of companies and for me one of the better ones. A really rich bold flavour and I can taste a good measure of strawberry in it too. The lemonade is soft and sweet, without the bitter and sour notes that some put in.

On the inhale I get a soft mix of sweet lemonade with a hint of strawberry. On to the exhale and these two flavours just accentuate all over my palate and with the slightest fizz at my taste buds I know exactly what I’m getting. An ADV for me.

VP Review Rating: 8/10

 Ice Crazy – 75VG/25PG

Scent: peaches.

Flavour: I have stated before that I’m not a fan of menthol/koolada vapes. I believe this juice to have quite a heavy hand of koolada in it. It certainly gives the sensation of freezing the throat. I think that the fruit in it is a peach, I love a peach vape and really like the measure of peach put in this. My question is there something accompanying the peach and I’m not sure.

On the inhale I get a touch of peach and then an almighty hit of koolada at the back of the inhale that almost takes my breath away. On to the exhale and the koolada dies down to leave me with a wonderfully juicy peach to finish. It isn’t for me, but if you like an icy fruity vape then this is a must try.

So to my conclusion, I find that Point Five Ohms have brought four excellent juices to the market. They all deliver a full-bodied flavour and produce some excellent vapour. Really impressed on how the juices have been put together, I definitely know what I’m getting.

The samples I got came in large gorilla bottles with child safety caps and tamper rings, with 0mg nicotine juice. They are all TPD/TRPR compliant. There is some great simple but affect designs with the labeling which makes them stand out. Their juices also come in 10ml premix bottles and boxes. The website is not up yet, so I cannot comment on that. Since I got these juices I have found that the are no longer available on the Eco-Vape website, so I have put a link to another website if you would like to check them out.
